Broome County Parks 5K Series Returns for Its Fifth Year
Broome County Parks is kicking off its 5th Annual 5K Series this summer, inviting runners and walkers of all abilities to lace up their sneakers and enjoy some of the area's best parks.

Broome County Parks is kicking off its 5th Annual 5K Series this summer, inviting runners and walkers of all abilities to lace up their sneakers and enjoy some of the area's best parks. The four-race series runs from July through August, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting CHOW — the Broome County Council of Churches, a local organization that helps fight hunger in the community.
Race Schedule
All races begin at 7:00 PM, with packet pickup available at each location from 5:30–6:30 PM the day of the event.
July 9 — Greenwood Park (dirt trail course)
July 23 — Dorchester Park (paved course)
August 6 — Nathaniel Cole Park (dirt trail course)
August 20 — Otsiningo Park (paved course)
Registration & Cost
Participants can sign up for the full series or just a single race:
All four races: $60 — includes a t-shirt and medal
Individual race: $20 — includes a giveaway prize
T-shirts are also available for purchase separately for $15
Registration for individual races is accepted day-of at the race location — cash only. Full series registration is available in advance at runsignup.com. No refunds are offered.
Courses are clearly marked, but do not have mile markers or chip timing. Results will be posted on the Broome County Parks website by 4:00 PM the Friday following each race.
