Whitney Point Central School District is teaming up with the Broome County District Attorney's Office and local sponsors to offer a free bike helmet giveaway for area families on Tuesday, June 30.
The event runs from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Whitney Point High School, located at 10 Keibel Road. Helmets will be distributed at no cost while supplies last.
Beyond the safety giveaway, the evening is shaping up to be a full community celebration. Attendees can enjoy free pizza and ice cream, live DJ entertainment from Spins-A-Lot Entertainment, and up-close looks at EMS vehicles, fire trucks, and law enforcement vehicles on display.
The event is open to all families in the area. Organizers say it's designed to promote bike safety while bringing the community together for a fun summer night.
Special thanks go to the Broome County District Attorney's Office, Aiello's Ristorante, Here's the Twist, and Spins-A-Lot Entertainment for sponsoring the event.
