Miss Broome County Fair Pageant 2026: Everything You Need to Know
The Broome County Fair is once again inviting young women and girls to shine on stage as part of its beloved annual pageant tradition. The 2026 Miss Broome County Fair Pageant features three age divisions, Little Miss, Jr. Miss, and Miss, all taking place on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at the Broome County Fairgrounds in Whitney Point, NY.

The Three Divisions
Little Miss Broome County Fair (Ages 4–8)
The Little Miss pageant kicks off the day at 10:00 AM. This division is judged on appearance, personality, enthusiasm, and speaking ability. Each contestant will be escorted to the stage, introduced to the judges while modeling her dress, and then asked one simple question by each judge.
Jr. Miss Broome County Fair (Ages 9–13)
The Jr. Miss pageant begins at 12:00 PM. Contestants deliver a 2-minute prepared speech covering themselves, their family, interests, hobbies, school life, favorite fair experiences, and some history of the Broome County Fair. Judges will also ask a few follow-up questions.
Miss Broome County Fair (Ages 14–18)
The Miss pageant begins at 2:00 PM. Contestants deliver a 3-minute prepared speech focusing on themselves, their future plans or goals, a personal role model, community involvement, and their favorite fair experiences. Contestants should also be prepared to answer questions about the history of the Broome County Fair.
Eligibility Requirements
All three divisions share the same core requirements:
Must be a female resident of Broome County
Must fall within the age range for the division entered (4–8, 9–13, or 14–18)
Must not be a former title holder in that age division
Must be available to attend the fair throughout the week and make appearances at all major events if crowned
What to Wear
Contestants should wear a nice party dress or summer dress. Evening gowns and short formals are not permitted in any division.
How to Sign Up
Applications are available online through the Broome County Fair website. Applications should be completed by Sunday, July 26, 2026.
Practice & Meet and Greet
A practice and meet-and-greet session will be held on Sunday, July 26th at the Broome County Fairgrounds Entertainment Building. Little Miss contestants start at 5:30 PM, and Miss contestants begin at 6:00 PM. This session allows girls to meet each other, learn the pageant format, and determine the order of appearances.
Prizes
Miss winner receives a crown, sash, trophy, flowers, and a $200 cash prize.
Jr. Miss winner receives a crown, sash, trophy, flowers, and a $100 cash prize.
Little Miss winner receives a crown, sash, flowers, and a trophy.
All winners will also perform volunteer work throughout the fair week and make appearances alongside the other titleholders at major events.
Winner Appearances (If Crowned)
Winners are expected to attend the following fair events:
Tuesday kickoff parade at 6:00 PM; Wednesday Demo Derby at 7:00 PM; Thursday's Celebrating Abilities Day volunteer shift at 9:00 AM, Out of Field Tractor Pull at 1:00 PM, and Truck & Tractor Pulls at 7:00 PM; Friday's Rodeo at 7:00 PM; Saturday's Super Stock & Modified Tractor Pulls at 7:00 PM; and Sunday's Demo Derby at 2:00 PM. Failure to appear at these events will result in forfeiture of the title, unless the titleholder is ill.
Judging & Important Rules
Judging is based on poise, personality, speaking ability, and overall appearance on stage. The judges' decisions are final, and score sheets will not be distributed. Organizers take care to select judges who do not personally know any of the contestants. Harassment of judges, directors, or other contestants will not be tolerated and may result in a permanent ban from future Broome County Fair Pageants.

The Broome County Fair runs each summer and is a cherished community tradition in the Southern Tier. The pageant is a wonderful opportunity for young women to build confidence, showcase their personalities, and become ambassadors for the fair.
